March 16, 2020

Dear Family, Friends and Partners in Ministry,

In light of the serious and escalating nature of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic and in accordance with the guidelines from both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the New York State Department of Health, we Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Albany Province, have updated our response and are implementing the following measures regarding St. Joseph’s Provincial House in Latham, New York. Our decisions are based on a deep desire to prevent the spread of the virus to our most susceptible and vulnerable Sisters and to keep all our Sisters and staff as healthy as possible.

  • General public access to St. Joseph’s Provincial House is suspended, effective immediately. All visits to the Provincial House are prohibited until further notice.
  • In accordance with the regulations of the Diocese of Albany, all Masses are canceled until further notice.
  • All events, meetings and programs scheduled at the Provincial House and Carondelet Hospitality Center are canceled until May 31 when our response will be reevaluated.

The above restrictions are subject to change as updated information and guidelines are issued from the New York State Department of Health and The Centers for Disease Control.

Thank you for helping us to minimize the risk of a COVID-19 infection among us. Be assured of our prayers for the health and safety of all of you as we face this world crisis together.
