Sister Rosalie Kelley, CSJ, Receives CSAANYS' Highest Honor


Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet Rosalie Kelley, CSJ, received the “Lighting the Fire Award” from the Albany Diocese at the Fortieth Anniversary Celebration of the Catholic Schools Administrators Association of New York State (CSAANYS) and Twelfth Annual Catholic School Administrators Gathering, held October 28, 2012, at the Marriott in Albany. Sister Rosalie, who has served in the ministry of education for 53 years, has been principal of St. Francis de Sales Regional Catholic School in Herkimer since 1974.

 The award is given to those who demonstrate the following: 
  • Has a clear philosophy of Catholic education;
  • Is an active leader of a school, diocesan office or other Catholic education organization inwhich a commitment to excellence is clearly evident through programs designed to meet the spiritual, academic, and social needs of all students;
  • Shows a strong commitment to leadership through active membership in professional associations and is respected by students, colleagues, parents and the community at large;
  • Assumes an active role in his or her parish community, distinguishing him or herself as a leader in civic, religious and humanitarian activities;
  • Shows strong educational leadership by setting high expectations for school staff and students.
