ALBANY (April 16, 2012) -- Saint Rose President Dr. R. Mark Sullivan has always cherished the privilege of presiding over the College’s commencement ceremony, handing the thousands of graduating students their bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

He’ll do it one last time this year – and in the process he and his wife, Kathleen, will receive the College’s acclaim for their dedication and the difference that they have made to Saint Rose and the greater community.

The College of Saint Rose will celebrate its 89th Annual Commencement with an address from the College’s outgoing president and by awarding degrees and certificates of advanced study to nearly 1,700 students.

Commencement will be held Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m. in the Times Union Center, 51 South Pearl St., Albany. The College will award bachelor’s and master’s degrees and certificates of advanced study from its arts and humanities, business, education, and mathematics and sciences schools. Both Mark and Kathleen Sullivan will receive honorary degrees as approved by the board of trustees.

The College also will bestow the Carondelet Medal, its highest honor, posthumously on the late Karene Faul, one of the longest-serving and most dedicated members of the Saint Rose community during her 42 years as professor and chair of the Art Department.
