Sister Mary Ernesta Flynn, CSJ, 84, died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at
Sister Mary Ernesta, the former Rita Monica Flynn, was born in
Sister Mary Ernesta was a tremendous community woman and a beloved superior. As a gifted and competent educator, she was an excellent teacher and administrator alike. Slow to anger and quick to praise, Sister Ernesta was the epitome of kindness and inspiration. In her own quiet and unassuming way, she was there for whoever needed her or whatever the need might be. In addition to her love of community, Sister Mary Ernesta had a deep devotion to her family and spoke often and lovingly of her brother and her sisters and their families; she shared a special bond of kinship with her beloved sister, Sister Regina Marie. Sister Ernesta’s deep faith, quick mind and gentle disposition combined to form the dedicated woman who was known and loved by so many.
Sister Mary Ernesta is survived by her beloved sister, Sister Regina Marie Flynn, CSJ; several nieces, nephews and their families; and the Sisters of St. Joseph. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters: Catherine Flynn, Mary Flynn Wyatt, Helen Flynn Levandowski and Margaret Flynn Walsh; one brother, Willard Flynn; and several dear friends in the Sisters of St. Joseph.
